Project Overview
The client requested a visually engaging, stylized 3D animation highlighting the modular construction and assembly of conservatory roof panels, mimicking the clean, narrative-driven aesthetic of Airbnb promotional spots.
Technical Execution
- Custom Tree Generator: Developed a proprietary generator where leaf animation was simulated using a POP point solver in Houdini, allowing precise, design-driven motion control.
- Procedural Snow Accumulation: Designed a Volume VOP-based accumulation workflow to smoothly transition panels and surrounding structures from summer states to snow-covered winter environments.
- Weather FX Optimization for Solaris: Created lightweight, packed-geometry rain and snow particle systems in Houdini Solaris to maintain interactive performance during layout and rendering.
- Full Procedural Assembly: Rigged the entire conservatory structure, brick laying, and adjacent vegetation to assemble procedurally on screen.
